First post of the year

I know it's been a long time since I  posted but it was soooooooo busy here I barely got time to make cards I really needed never mind ones for fun!!! However my resolution for this year is to make time for using my crafty staff not just adding to it.

I used some papers from a magazine I've had for a long time another thing I will be trying to do this year is to use up what I have....I feel this may take some time!!!

I coloured the image using my Spectrum Noir pencils and blending solution. I was aiming for a nice soft look for the image and felt pencils were more appropriate.

I went with the fabulous Vintage Dog Walk. As soon as I saw it I though of my daughter. I think this will be her in a few years time but maybe with more or a bigger dog. I coloured this with my pencils.
I used a template to make the card and used some washi tape to cover the front as it was red and blue like the flag.

Pile It On Challenge 66

 I am sorry I have been missing I have not been at all well but seem to be recovering now thankfully, I have a few cards to post which I will do tomorrow. This time at Pile It On we are looking to see you use a pattern in more than one way.

 My sister has moved house so I wanted something to give as a little something for her new house. I had bought a plain chipboard frame, and could see this in my head or a version of anyway. I used some dotty decopatch paper and covered the frame. I used some gold buff it to go round the edges to give it that gilded look, this was much easier then using gilding flakes. I raided my stash of flowers and went to town with them. I used some if the dotty paper for some of my flowers as well. I cut lots of cream Gerber type flowers on my Silhouette. I cur some flourishes and

 I was looking at the scrap and though that would make a nice stencil so that's what I did with it. I mixed the buff it with a little water and used some blending foam to dab the solution through my cut outs to create the background for my vinyl letters. My sister has sight issues so I needed a strong contrast that she will be able to see. 

This is a close up of some of the flowers, you can see the cream pointy flowers that created my new stencil.

Pile It On Challenge 64

Hello again, this time I am posting for Pile It On and we would like to see your creations with fancy frames or beautiful borders. We are sponsored by the wonderful

I coloured the image with my pens, I used some double sided sheet to attach the die cut borders cut from a scarp of gold paper and the stamp plate. I knew the tape would hold the edge of the border I had stuck down so I could leave one edge a little freer. I used glamour dust all over the rest to create my glittered background. This was a first for me and I really like the effect.

Crafting From The Heart

Hello again, I know I am late again, but I was not very well and unable to get to the pc to do my post, feeling a bit better now though thank goodness. 

This time we are sponsored by the fabulous Oakpond Creations and I choose the lovely reading rabbits. 

 I decided to make a gift bag as I don't really send Easter cards but I do give Easter gifts.

I coloured the image with my pens, Spectrum Noir and Promarkers looking at it now I should have gone darker with my rabbits but they look good in real life. I used some scraps from my box for the mats of gold and orange. I embossed a piece of green card and used spiced marmalade distress ink to pick out the embossing.

I went with the lovely Spring Bestie, I coloured her with my Spectrum Noir and ProMarker pens, I used some free paper from a magazine which just dropped in the door as I was thinking about which ones to use. 

I used a Sizzix die to cut her out and drew round the biggest one to give a bigger border, I couldn't find any dark paper in my stash that was what I wanted so I made my own with my pens. 

I also used some of the may many paper flowers I have in my stash I am trying to use them up this year so expect to see lots of flowers on my creations. I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Crafting From The Heart

Hello again, this is take two of this post, not sure why blogger is eating my posts will need to publish them myself in future I think. Anyway this time at Crafting From The Heart we are sponsored by the fabulous Stitchy Bear who are offering a gift voucher

I choose this lovely image called Spring

I am not sure what type of bird it is so I coloured him how I felt, apologies to the twitchers out there who know what he is and how he should look.I used my Spectrum Noir Pencils on him.
I cut out a tag shape from some Kraft card, embossed with my leaf folder, some brown distress ink and a few pieces of ribbon one tag ready to go.

I will be entering this in some challenges but I will add them later.

Another late post

I know I am late again, this time I thought I was doing really well project made and writing the post early when I realised it had made my project for the wrong week!!!! Argh. So this is what I should have made before. At Pile It On we are looking for Adhesive Embellishments this time and are sponsored by the the fabulous Oak Pond Creations. 

I choose this lovely penguin family image I just love how cute it looks. I coloured it with my pencils cut ti out and added to a panel which I have wrapped top and bottom with some lace stickers. It felt like the finishing touch.

A very late post

 Hello again, I know I am mega late with this one but had no internet so couldn't post.

Pile It On Challenge 56 Butterflies

Hello Again, for some reason Blogger ate my last post so hoping this one behaves itself. This time I am posting for Pile It On and we would like to see Butterflies. We are sponsored by the wonderful A Day for Daisies and they are offering a prize of 3 digi stamps of your choice. 

I was able to choose Valentines Hoppity. I just love the little rabbit having a chat with his butterfly friend. 

I cut the image out with my Silhouette and coloured it with my Spectrum Noir pens.

 I have been doing some online colouring classes at Kit and Clowder and I think my colouring is improving I was trying really hard to make his ears look like they were on top of his body not sure if I have got it quiet right

I was hoping this one would show the glitter on the butterfly but it does not seem to have worked. It is there I promise. I embossed the card and swiped it with some green distress ink and  used a piece of paper from my stash. I wanted something in the corners but wasn't sure what then I remembered my peel off corners so they have had an airing as well.

Pile It On Music

 Hello again, another week another post, this time for Pile It on and we would love to see your creations with music. We are sponsored this time by the fabulous Dr Digi and I choose Mood Music. I love the idea of a girl and her dog making music together even if no one else appreciates it.

I coloured the image with my Spectrum Noir Pencils this time. I know it still needs improvement but I am really pleased with it I used some plain card to create the mats and swiped with some distress inks except the first one I used some more pencil and blended it in.
I had some Tim Holtz music tissue tape which I thought was just the thing to give the card some decoration, a few gems and viola.

A close up of the image, it's the first time I have done skin with pencils and I can see it needs ore shadows but I like the look.

Crafting From The Heart Challenge 44

Hello Again , this time I am posting for Crafting From the Heart as always we are anything goes. We are sponsored by Stitchy Bear and Angi's Digis this week and they are offering a prize of a voucher from Stitchy Bear and 3 digis from Angi. 

I was able to choose the lovely Heart Pieces, I cut her out with my Silhouette, coloured her with my Spectrum Noirs and Pro Makers. 

I have used dome papers from the Barkley range from Crafters Companion, a it of ribbon on the join although you can hardly see it it is there promise. I cut the papers with my dies and finished her off with some flower gems which I have had for a long time.

This little lady is Daisy Mae she is from Angi's Digi's and is coloured with my Spectrum Noirs and Promarkers as well. Now you will hopefully see a difference between the two images as I have started the Skin and Hair class at Kit and Clowder. I used a cutting file for my Silhouette to create the card base and kept it simple with a silver mat behind my image.

I was able to choose the fabulous Boris the Pig. I used my Spectrum Noirs to colour it in. I cut it out with my scissors.

I bought a file for my new Cameo from Creative Cardmaking and have used it twice already I can see this being used a lot, because the card is so fancy I decided to keep it fairly simple.

Pile It On Something Edible

Well I promised to blog more regularly this year and here is my first post of the New Year so Happy New Year to you all.

This time at Pile It On we are asking for something edible. Our sponsor this time is the fabulous Bug A Boo. I choose this Rottweiler puppy with bone as I can see him being used for so many of my family members. Yes we are all dog lovers.

I coloured him with my Spectrum Noir pens and although I haven't been posting I have been crafting and been trying to improve with my pens.  I know I have work to do but I was pretty pleased with him. I used some packaging I kept from a Christmas present in 2013 as I knew it would come in handy for something and this was it. I used some scrap black to mount the brown card and to cut the words. I wanted the cute dog to be the focus so kept it nice and simple. Some gardening twine to tie it on and viola all done.

I was able to use the very cute German Shepherd from Oakpond Creations. I coloured him with my pens and pencils, cut him our by hand. Made a frame using my Labels 4 gold, some distress ink for the grass and sky.
I used a Spellbinders border and swiped it with my blue ink. I used one of my new Embosalicious embossing folders, used my green ink on the embossing and left it at that.

Hello again, I can't believe I haven't posted for so long, note to self must do better, this time I am posting for Pile It on and we would like to see your Cute creations. I am sorry not sure what has happened to the post but will try to fix it. We are sponsored by Oddball Art.

Oddball Art by Lizzy Love: Growing up a child of the 80's, pop rocks princess, with an extreme fondness for anything candy coated, Kawaii Kitten & Ziggy Stardust, all of which had a major influence in the work that I am creating today. I employ many different mediums when I create, anything from mixed media painting to sewing with many different textiles, the end result always being the same; A whimsical dream world filled with big eyed beauties, creepy little cuties and quirky monsters of all shapes and sizes.

I was able to use Kawaii Clouds, I decided to use a beach scene and add my clouds to it. Sorry I haven't put the beach scene into a folder so not sure who it is by. 

I used one of my new A4 embossing folders and some Tumbled Glass distress Ink for the background, I think this is my new favourite way to create backgrounds so apologies if you get fed up seeing this one. 

I used my Spectrum Noir pencils to colour the image in I do love the effect you get with just the pencils. I used another embossing folder for the little beach huts, cut them out of the card stock and coloured then with the pencils as well. I wanted a backing for the image and beach huts so found a sheet of packaging in my scrap box and roughly cut it with some decorative scissors. The scissors are not something I used very often but I think they will be used a little more now as I like the effect I got with them.

I was lucky enough to be able to use Here comes a Birthday, I just love this image.

I cut it out using my Craft Robo, coloured in the fabulous image with my Spectrum Noir pens and pencils. I am still getting used to using the pencils but I do love the effects you can get.

I used some Party Time paper from a Forever Friends pad, some black card, I created some extra layers using white card and my pens. I wanted the image and the paper to be on show so I used some Wink of Stella pen on the white sections and left it at that.

I was able to use the beautiful Aurora Daisy for my card. 

 I coloured her with my new Spectrum Noir pencils only, I am really pleased with the colouring and I managed to leave a white space on her hair for some shine, believe me this was hard for me as I always feel I have't finished colouring if there is white space.

I used my new embossing folder I got at Bolton on Sunday, swiped the embossed card with some tumbled glass distress ink to create the background. I wanted to frame the image so used some papers from a magazine, some black card and my doily punch from Martha Stewart. 2 pastel ribbons one is blue the other is pink in a big bow and some flowers in the corner finished it off.
